PUBLIC SPEAKING Courses
connect with your audience - 26/27th May
looking to build your confidence in front of a crowd?
This 2-day intensive course is designed to build your confidence by developing and strengthening tangible skills in public speaking that you can start to rely on.
Taking place at Bristol Old Vic Theatre, this course has a particular focus on creating and communicating content for a large audience or space. These environments can be intimidating, and as a result, we can start to lose control of our natural communication skills.
We will work in a small group of up to 8 participants to help build up and strengthen your communication ability, from speaking on a one-to-one level, to speaking in front of a small group, culminating in a final session on the stage at Bristol Old Vic, where we will work specially on adapting your delivery for a larger space.
These 2 days are aimed at helping you:
Keep control of your nerves – we will explore how breathing, specifically released and slow breathing, can help you stay focused on the content, calm you nerves, and allow you to say what you want to say.
Structure and connect with your thoughts – establishing and maintaining a good sense of structure when we speak can be incredibly helpful in not only allowing our audience to follow the content, but also engaging them to really listen.
Get the most out of your voice – this is one of your greatest tools, so understanding how it works will help you keep control of it so that it serves you in your communication. This is about more than projection, it’s about resonance, clarity and engagement.
Tell good stories – we are all natural storytellers. But as with any skill, it requires practice. We will come back to basics to help you strengthen this ability so that your stories establish real connection and invite your audience in.
If you still have any questions about the course, feel free to book in for free 10 minute consultation on the booking page, otherwise you can use the icon opposite to secure your place on the course.
